The Band Office is the central hub of administration and leadership for Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug. Located in the former Aglace Chapman Education Centre, it houses key departments and services including Indian Registration, Income Assistance, Finance, Human Resources, the Post Office, Jordan’s Principle, Health, Housing, Public Works, and the Four Pillars Society. It supports the daily operations of Chief and Council and plays a vital role in coordinating programs, services, and governance for the community.
The Finance Department is responsible for managing the financial operations of Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug. It oversees accounts payable and receivable, processes payroll for staff and programs, operates the community ATM, and ensures the proper handling and reporting of funding that supports services and initiatives across KI.
The Human Resources Department supports all KI departments with staffing, recruitment, training, and employee relations. It ensures fair hiring practices, coordinates orientation and benefits, and helps create a respectful, efficient, and professional work environment for all KI staff.
The Indian Registration Office manages the official records of KI band members. It handles status card applications and renewals, maintains the band membership list, and processes changes such as births, deaths, name updates, and transfers. This office helps ensure that KI members have access to their rights and benefits under the Indian Act.
The Income Assistance Office provides financial support to eligible KI community members in need. The program helps cover basic living expenses and is delivered in partnership with BDO, which provides administrative and financial assistance. The office also supports clients with monthly reporting, renewals, and referrals to training or employment programs when applicable.
The KI Post Office operates as an official Canada Post outlet, providing essential mail and parcel services to the community. It handles incoming and outgoing mail, package deliveries, and postal services such as stamps, money orders, and registered mail for KI residents and organizations.
