Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug Administration

The Band Office serves as the central administrative and leadership hub for the First Nation community of Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug. Located within the former Aglace Chapman Education Centre, it accommodates a range of essential departments and services, including Indian Registration, Income Assistance, Finance, Human Resources, the Post Office, Jordan’s Principle, Health, Housing, Public Works, and the Four Pillars Society.

This office provides operational support to the Chief and Council and fulfills a critical role in the coordination and delivery of programs and services, as well as in the effective governance and management of community affairs

The Finance Department is responsible for the administration of financial operations within Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll for employees and programs, and the management of the community ATM. It ensures the sensible management, accurate allocation, and transparent reporting of all funding to support effective service delivery and community initiatives.

The Human Resources Department supports all departments within Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug through the administration of staffing, recruitment, training, and employee relations. It upholds equitable hiring practices, coordinates orientation and benefits, and promotes a professional and respectful work environment to support effective service delivery across the organization.

The Indian Registration Office administers and maintains official band membership records for Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug. It processes status card applications and renewals, manages the membership registry, and records key changes such as births, deaths, name updates, and transfers, ensuring members can access their rights and benefits under the Indian Act.

The Income Assistance Office provides financial support to eligible members of Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug, assisting with basic living expenses. The program is delivered in partnership with BDO, which supports administrative and financial operations. The office also facilitates monthly reporting, renewals, and referrals to training and employment programs, as appropriate.

The KI Post Office operates as an official Canada Post outlet, providing essential mail and parcel services to the First Nation community of Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug. It manages incoming and outgoing mail and package deliveries, and offers key postal services, including stamps, money orders, and registered mail, to residents and local organizations
