The Nursing Station provides essential health services and emergency medical care for the community. Staffed by nurses and visiting physicians, it offers basic treatment, assessments, and referrals. The facility is managed by Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) and operates independently from KI’s local administration.
The KI Police Station provides law enforcement and public safety services to the community. It is operated by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), who are responsible for maintaining peace, responding to emergencies, and enforcing laws in the area. The station operates independently from KI’s local administration.
KI’s Fire Response team provides emergency fire protection and safety services for the community. Locally managed by Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug, the team also receives significant support from the Independent First Nations Alliance (IFNA) through training, equipment, and emergency planning. The Fire Response team plays a vital role in protecting lives, homes, and infrastructure in KI.
